We will be teaching classes throughout the gardening season on the following topics:
1. Cooking with your vegetables
2. Making bread from scratch
3. Canning/preserving your vegetables
4. How to cook nourishing meals on a budget
Our first class to be offered will be bread making on August 24, 2019 starting at 10:00 am. Meet at the garden, we will use the kitchen in the basement of the church building to make bread. The class is open to anyone and is free. If you would like to purchase some bread pans for $1 each and some bread flour/yeast to take home, they will be available at the class. Please use the contact form to sign up for the class if you haven't already contacted me. Also indicate if you would like a kit of bread making supplies so we can make sure we have enough available.
Our second class will be a canning class on Sept. 21, 2019 also starting at 10:00 am. We will also meet at the garden for this and go down to the church kitchen. We will can tomatoes, salsa and pickles. You need to bring your own canning jars to take home your canned goods. A second canning class will be offered October 5, 2019, also at 10:00 am. Meet at the garden and we will go to the kitchen in the church to can. It will cover the same information as the first canning class.
