If you are like me, you are anxious to get the gardening season going. Currently, the manure is appearing in the garden, so that is good. We are aiming to till up the garden either next weekend (last weekend in April) or the first weekend in May.

I need to know how many gardeners I will be placing this season. Please reply back to me to let me know if you are planning on having a plot this season. Also - please let me know if you would like a raised bed. I like to give priority to those with accessibility issues for the raised beds, so please let me know if you need a raised bed.

Thank you for those who took such good care of the compost bins this winter. They look fantastic. I will be removing the compost and adding it to the raised beds.

I plan to do several tasks early in the season at the garden. If you can help me, please reply to me and let me know.

1. I need to divide the thyme and lavender plants in the flower bed and either plant them around the house, or distribute them to others.

2. I could use some help moving the compost to the raised beds.

3. I need to clean up the strawberry bed in the back of the house, as well as the flower bed.

4. I am bringing down a drawer organizer in which to put extra seeds for distribution. I would like gardeners to drop off any extra seeds they want to donate, and I want gardeners to also check that bin for any seeds you want to use. Please do not donate seeds older than 2024. I will leave a basket and some tape in front of the bin inside the shed. If you are donating an open packet, please tape it shut and leave it in the basket for me to file in the cabinet. Anyone who would like to help organize and label the seed cabinet, please let me know.

Spring Instructions:

-Contact me to let me know you want a plot and/or you want to help with any of the above items.

-When you contact me, we will set up a time to assign your plot. At that time, I will remind you of the key code to access the shed, or give it to you for the first time if you are new to the garden.

-Remember anything in the shed is for everyone's use. If you want to bring your own tools or fencing, etc, you are welcome, but if you leave it in the shed it is fair game for anyone to use.

-Remember when you use the hose to water, to roll it back up and leave it out of the way for the lawn care folks.

I will send out more information as we get going, but let me know if you want a plot as soon as possible.
